So you are planning your wedding and you have decided on candle wedding favors. However; this covers a wide spectrum, because there is a veritable litany of these types of wedding favors to choose from. Of course, because they are candles, you may be considering making them yourself, which can save you money, which can in turn be spent on some other area of your wedding.
Find an Old Sauce Pan
Either way, you have to bear in mind that there is number of choices that you are going to have to make before you get started. Containers, scents and colors are all things that you will have to find if you are going to go this route. Also don't forget to pick up something like an old sauce pan to melt the wax in.
Decorative Containers
One great idea is to look into buying monogrammed vessels of some sort to contain your candles. While this idea might seem expensive at first, the reality is that there are tons of sources for monogrammed items online. Another idea is acid etched glasses that you can have what ever you want stenciled on.
Get an Electric Hot Plate
Whatever you do, get a hot plate so you can melt and pour your wax outside. Don't even think about doing it inside, because spilled wax is one of the hardest things to remove. If you think that you can do it without spilling any, then you need to think again because it is almost impossible to do.
Be Extra Careful
Also, hot wax burns in a way that hot water doesn't. If you spill any hot wax on you, unlike water it is going to stick and give you a nasty burn. Also, a persons first reaction when they spill hot wax on their hand is to stick it in their mouth, which immediately results in a bad burn on their tongue. So wear gloves and be extra careful.
